Grievances
Grievance Process
If a grievance or allegation arises in the Pinal County Democratic Party, we take it seriously and approach the process professionally. We conduct assessments and collect witness statements and other evidentiary documentation systematically and with thoroughness, sensitivity, fairness, and confidentiality to ensure a just outcome for all parties involved. Below is a brief overview of some of the assessment processes we will use, but not all:
Time: When we receive a grievance or allegation, we will conduct an initial assessment within a reasonable time to determine its seriousness, credibility, details, and plausibility.
Jurisdiction: We will determine if the grievance or allegation falls within the jurisdiction of the Pinal County Democratic Party.
Source Reliability: We will assess the reliability of the source who provided the allegations and consider factors such as their position within the organization, behavior, and any potential biases. We will verify whether the source has firsthand knowledge or if the information is second-hand and, therefore, hearsay.
Consistency and Corroboration: We will look for consistency and corroboration among multiple sources or pieces of evidence. Consistent accounts from different witnesses or sources often support credible allegations. We will cross-check the information provided with our relevant documentation or sources of information.
Plausibility and Specificity: We will evaluate the plausibility of the allegations based on the circumstances and context surrounding the events. Credible allegations are specific and detailed, providing clear information about the alleged misconduct's who, what, when, where, and how.
Motive and Bias: We will consider the potential motives or biases of the individuals making the allegations and assess whether personal or professional conflicts of interest may impact their credibility. We will also investigate potential ulterior motives behind the allegation, such as a personal vendetta or retaliation.
Past Behavior and Reputation: We will evaluate the past behavior and reputation of the individuals involved, both the accused and the accuser or accusers, and consider any past incidents or patterns of behavior that may be relevant to the current allegations.
